"When She Took to the Sky" Book Launch at EFL

Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Marwan Al Maktoum successfully launched her debut children’s book “When She Took to the Sky” at the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature on the 3rd February 2024, in the presence of esteemed members of the UAE government, and Dubai Police. The book features stories about prominent figures in aviation across the region and the world and aims to inspire young women, and children, who seek to enter aviation. The launch was followed by a moderator session with Deema Al Alami and delved into more detail about the key messages of the book and Her Highness’ journey as a young aspiring pilot to Dubai’s Royal female police and commercial pilot. Following the moderator session there was also an interactive book signing.

 

The launch saw the attendance of prominent figures such as – Colonel Ali Al Mehairi from the Dubai Police Air Wing, and His Excellency Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the GCAA. Her Highness Sheikha Mozah also met with His Excellency Sultan Al Neyadi, Minister of Youth, one of the first 2 astronauts from the UAE AND the first Arab to serve on the International Space Station for a 6-month mission, and Her Highness Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) and Member of the Dubai Council.
